Only chavs go to the Dockle Farmhouse. Kids run around like lunatics and their parents don't care. Why anyone would want to go there is beyond me. If you like that sort of clientele then this is the place for you.

I have eaten here once with my wife and our two children, and the food was terrible in every respect, all of the the meals were served stone cold and the chips were burned so badly they were more like lead bars, I ordered a rear steak, but I think I got a piece of charcoal instead.
I asked to see the chief so that he could explain himself, but I was told he had gone home for the day, which was odd as I saw 10 people waiting in the queue to order food!

I've travelled many a mile to visit this pub, and never had a bad visit yet! I've been there at the busiest times of the day, and evening, but been served in good time and not had to wait longer than 15 mins for my meal. As for the standards - blame the chavvy locals (you know who you are, some are more local than others) for messing it up deliberately to make it look bad. And if you hate it so much DON'T GO THERE! I've said my piece now - long live the Dockle!

The docklefarm house has always served up great breakfasts but over the last few months they have drastically gone down hill. On one occasion we ordered 3 full English breakfasts only to find that when the food arrived one was minus the sausage and one plate was minus the bacon, when we told the waitress she said the chef was still cooking it!! the missing food arrived some minutes later. On the next visit we received 2 slices of toast with the farmhouse breakfast which when picked up wilted and flopped in front of our eyes, after asking the waiter for another 8 slices of "crunchy" toast the response was "we don't have access to a grill or toaster thats how it comes" !! amazing i didn't realise you could buy bread already toasted!! so if you want to start the day on a bad note go to the Docklefarm House

I agree with all the comments below, I can't believe this place is still open. The dirtyness makes me feel ill especially when you are eating in a dirty environment.
Every time I have been, there is only ever one person on the bar and the bar tops are always dirty too.
Cheap yes, recommend it - NO.

I too have not had good experiences at the Dockle.
It seemed like a really good place to take the children, but the service is really slow. On Friday we waited over 40 minutes for 3 meals. The red wine was cold. The staff are very inexperienced, they don't notice that your plates need to be taken away, there are never enough staff to customers. I'm a vege and on one occasion I've had a meat dish served incorrectly to me and my meal this week was a bit burnt.
We keep trying there for the kids, as we forget and think it might be worth another shot, but it's a stressful experience.
Maybe they take so long so you have to spend money on the machines filled with useless toys in order to keep your children from meltdown!
They need an experienced member of staff to train and manage the place more effectively.

I went to this establisment, after reading these reviews, just to value it for myself. Well, let me tell you, this may be the first non smoking pub in Swindon to hail as an achievement, but it has an awful long way to go until it comes any where near to being a place for good food and service. I spoke to the manager, after having to wait 45 minutes for a curry in a place that was practically deserted, to air my views. He said that the staff were mostly new to the job and were still striving to get better. Well, if you ask me, firstly you don't put inexperienced staff at the mercy of the customer and secondly, how long does it actually take to get things sorted/better?? This place has been open well over a years now, so it should at least have the standard of your basic McDonalds!! I agree with Dusty on this and will steer clear of this and go elsewhere to get value for money and quality of service....very poor indeed Wetherspoons!!
